BOPP - biaxially oriented polypropylene - the extruded polypropylene granulate is stretched longitudinally and laterally to achieve maximum resistance to tensile force in this type of plastic. This is done in a biaxial stretching unit (warming - stretching - stabilising - cooling).

To minimise inherent tension the film is thermally stabilised at the end of the manufacturing process by heating it again.

This plastic film is mainly used in the packaging industry on tubular bagging machines (horizontal and vertical), as monofilm and as a component in laminated films.
